With that I wanted to share some things I’ve heard on my journey which I hope, if you are reading this you will try to refrain from saying the next time you talk to someone on the autism spectrum…

and my personal “favorite”:

“God only gives special needs children to special people.”……. STOP, just STOP. Read the news once in a while.

We understand that many of us have been taught to use person first language but there is a growing number of autistics that prefer to be identified AS autistic.
